Oh Stefush Fan, poor poor Stefush Fan....

Stefush Fan, Stefush Fan, Stefush Fan. Torn apart by your conscience. Loyalty or change? History's axis or friendship? Brand name recognition or cult status hero?
You don't think I face these horrors daily? What, you feel I'm immune to the arc of time and it's eroding power? Oh, Stefush Fan. You stagger me with your jibes and subrasa angst. Go here, and know you are loved.

I would start being a little worried Stefush...SFan is a little too out there. On second thought - just have a glass of wine and laugh about it.

Being called a "hater of children" made me chuckle!

Um, SF? I, myself, never want children. Ever. Not that I hate them - just the thought of having them. Stefush, like Ishi, will be the last of his tribe.

Totally your choice Stefush - don't worry about what anyone else thinks except your wife on this issue.

I'm thinking SFan must be a teenager if he thinks I am "withering with age" at 43. (Thanks again SFan for making me laugh once again.)If nothing else I learned I was "old" and "devoid of spirituality" and my favorite..."Truly horrible".

It always amazes me how people who are "supposedly liberal" are so close minded.

I on the other hand look for opposing views. There is something to be learned from everyone.

SFan - It is very nice being "Judged" by you. How many times do I have to tell you - you make me laugh. I look forward to seeing how you take a sentance like..."please don’t foist your child upon me" and turn it into "a hater of children."

You are funny! So let me be clear. Please keep on doing what you are doing...you are entertaining.

EuroYank and now Mara - how the Blogger community grows on When You Were Five these days - albeit strangely. Evidently Stefush Fan is out in the field, going places I have not. We truly are as one, now. Perhaps I will christen Stefush Fan as my Galactic Arm. Would you like that, SF? To be known as a Galactic Arm?

Mara and EuroYank - tell me more about yourselves.

And Stefush Fan - why the equating of my desire for fame with my desire to not have kids? One is not a sublimation of the other. I think part of being a very responsible parent and citizen is knowing that you don't want to be a parent. It's also environmentally wiser (although the wisest is to adopt a child).

The title of When you Were 5 came to me as an alternate title. The first was to be Memory Hole, but alas it's been taken.

Kudos..Kudos Stefush on..."I think part of being a very responsible parent and citizen is knowing that you don't want to be a parent." Perfectly said! I adopted my child and could not believe how many people came up to me and said - "When are you going to have one of your own?" Unbelieveable!

I know, I know. My married friends all seem to think because my wife and I went out and got a dog instead of having our first child that we're too shy to have children, and are substituting a proxy Fido. I'm developing a stand-up bit about this very thing, in fact.

SF - who is Berlusconi? I must know! This type of breach can never occur again! I feel my identity weakening, Stefush Fan, in the face of your knowledge and power. A funhouse mirror now...cracking down the middle and the darkness beckons.

I was five once, before I was 50, but now I am 5 again after being 50. How time flies, and how soon we go back to our roots.

It is the "Matrix" we are living in. I perceive it now. I hope its not too late, maybe it is too early.
